Y6 – waterpark adventures

Year 6 have completed their crew building fun at Hatfield this afternoon by switching activities, with Crew Mumby and part of Crew Ambler enjoying some time on the waterpark.

A huge well done to everyone involved, activity centre staff who have worked with us today were full of praise for the children and our school – tremendous behaviour and attitudes all round, we are so proud of you all!

Y6 Fun in the Sun at Hatfield

It’s been a great morning at Hatfield for Y6 so far! Crew Jackson and part of Crew Ambler have enjoyed the waterpark to start whilst Crew Mumby and part of Crew Ambler have challenged themselves with archery and rock climbing.

Lunchtime now to refuel before switching activities for the afternoon.

Super crew building and fun all round! Watch this space for more updates and photos.

Y6: Camping and HWP kit list

Hi,

Mr Ambler, Mrs Jackson and I are looking forward to welcoming you all back next week. Following a few requests over the holidays I am reposting the kit list that we sent out before the holidays. Enjoy your final weekend of the holidays and we will see you all on Tuesday 30th August!

Thanks

Mr Mumby

Y5/6: A great start to our new phase crew!

It has been a fabulous end to the term by welcoming our new Y5’s to the phase. This week we have spent time developing our new crews through establishing crew norms, creating collaborative art work, creating a crew song amongst other exciting activities. As Y6 have their current teachers again, their transition looked slightly different. Working around the extreme heat this week, that children coped incredibly well with, Y6 children took part in service learning by throughly cleaning the areas around school by litter picking and making our school look the best it can be. We made a stand by creating eye-catching posters that we intend on placing on the fences around the school, particularly the entrance to school. Following this, we had a continental brunch as a reward for our hard work and as a treat for attendance this academic year. This week has been fantastic, I am proud of every single child in our new crew. I’m certain we’re going to have an outstanding and memorable year as a new phase crew.

Wishing everyone a restful and enjoyable Summer break.

Y5/6 Celebration of Learning

A massive thank you to all the parents and carers that joined us this evening for our Y5/6 Celebration of Learning. It was lovely to listen to the children read and speak so confidently and clearly outside in the sunshine.

We then got to showcase our science videos in the hall whilst enjoying popcorn and fruit kebabs. I think we definitely have some budding actors and actresses at Green Top!

The videos will be blogged soon for us all to share.

Thank you all supporting us tonight.

Year 5 and 6 – fantastic talents showcased at Green Top’s Got Talent

This morning it was fantastic to see the many different talents our year 5 and year 6 children have. We had dancing, singing, rapping and gymnastics as well as piano playing, climbing and acting.

A massive shout out to all the children who were brave enough to stand up and perform. You are all super stars!

A big thank you to Alexsis who hosted our year 5 and 6 talent show. You were amazing as always.

And we can not forget the hidden talents of Mr Mumby on the piano!

Y5/6 celebration of learning

We would like to invite parents and carers of children in years 5 and 6 to our celebration of learning on Thursday 7th July at 5pm. We would like to share our learning from Summer term and demonstrate how we answered the guiding question: How can a healthy lifestyle impact your body and mind? The celebration will begin in the KS2 playground (weather permitting) where the children will narrate their learning with you before moving to the hall where we will showcase the videos each crew have created that help answer our question. We look forward to seeing you there.
