At Green Top we are very excited that we have been given our own allotment. The EYFS children have been visiting over the last few weeks to begin planting our first seeds. The community in Thorne have been amazing and we have had lots of help and donations from the lovely people at the allotments. In addition to this, Mrs Hardman helped us to plant some seeds, Mrs Salter brought us some plants which had been donated by her dad and Mrs Cook has been busy weeding and looking after the allotment after school. Today some of the EYFS parents and children went to the allotments to continue weeding, adding top soil and planting some more plants. We had lots of fun in the sunshine! We will be visiting lots more over the next half term to keep our allotment weed-free and to sample the fruits and vegetables we are growing!
A big thank you to all the parents who have supported us over the last few weeks. Without you we would not be able to provide so many children with these opportunities!
