Gymnastics Competition – Thursday

Huge Congratulations to our Y3/4 Advanced Gymnastics Team who were awarded first place in Doncaster in their competition today! Our very first 1st place for gymnastics! These girls have now qualified for the Yorkshire Regional finals which will take place in Sheffield on March 22nd. The parents of these children are invited to spectate on the day. More details will be sent to parents very soon but for now please save this date it is not to be missed!

The girls were true professionals and have worked hard to perfect their floor and vault routines and this was reflected int their scores. Emily R received a ‘perfect 10’ for her floor routine with the other girls receiving incredibly high scores of 9.9 and 9.8. All the girls received 9.9 or 9.8 for their floor routines too!

Myself and Mrs Hardman are incredibly proud of all our gymnasts and as always we are looking forward to continuing to train our children to a high standard and provide wonderful opportunities for children to take part in. We will be on the hunt for our 2020 KS2 competition teams and we always aim to take as many children as possible to this fantastic event. In order to participate in our competition teams children must be able to cartwheel, forwards roll and backwards roll using the correct techniques. They must also develop sufficient strength and flexibility. Dedication, commitment and high standards of behaviour are also essential qualities. We also expect children to attend every lesson where possible. We work on the essential skills throughout the year to ensure as many children as possible reach the required standards and we are observing so many great improvements in all the children.

Next term we will continue with our KS1 and KS2 gymnastics and we will be working on group routines to perform at our summer events such as Party in the Park.
