The primary purpose of the Local Community Group is to ensure that the voices of parents and community members are heard, valued, and incorporated into the decision-making processes of our school. Through this, we aspire to create an inclusive and supportive platform where all participants are encouraged to share perspectives, raise concerns, and contribute constructive ideas that will enrich the learning environment and promote the wellbeing of every student.
Our work is guided by a structured process of critique, wherein feedback is offered in a manner that is kind, helpful, and specific. This approach ensures that discussions focus on the work or idea itself, rather than the individual, thereby fostering respectful dialogue and collective problem-solving.
By cultivating collaboration and mutual respect, the Local Community Group seeks to build a stronger school community – one in which families, staff, and students work together to foster a positive, inclusive, and enriching primary school experience.
Green Top’s Community Products
As many of you know, we take great pride in the products we share within our local and sometimes wider community. Over the years we have had many products around Thorne.

This is just a selection of the beautiful work our children have produced and proudly displayed within our community.
We need your help!
We would like to produce a display in school celebrating the work we have done.
We would like you to share photographs of your children or you as a family with the products you may have spotted in our local or wider community. We would love to share your photographs as part of the celebration board. Please share before the end of September.
